1. Introduction
MID Equities LLC (“MID Equities,” “WeCryptAI,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the WeCryptAI mobile application (the "App"), an AI-powered messaging platform available on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. Our App is designed with privacy-first principles, including end-to-end encryption for private chats and on-device AI processing that keeps your data on your phone.
By downloading, installing, or using WeCryptAI, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account and use WeCryptAI, you provide the following information:
- Phone Number: Your phone number in E.164 international format, used as your primary identifier for account creation and authentication via one-time password (OTP) verification.
- Profile Information: Your first name, last name, and a custom handle (username) that you choose during registration.
- Country Code: Derived from your phone number to support regional features.
2.2 Information Generated Automatically
The following information is generated automatically when you use the App:
- Account Creation Timestamp: The date and time your account was created.
- Encryption Keys: A public encryption key is generated on your device for end-to-end encrypted messaging. Only the public key is stored on our servers. Your private key never leaves your device.
- Device Identifier: A randomly generated device ID used solely for the encryption envelope to enable message decryption.
- Push Notification Tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens are generated to deliver push notifications. These tokens are removed from our servers when you log out.
2.3 Messages and Content
- Private Chat Messages: Encrypted end-to-end before transmission. We store only the encrypted ciphertext. We cannot read your private messages.
- Public Chat Messages: Stored in plaintext as they are intended to be publicly visible within the chat.
- Images: Images you send in chats or post publicly are uploaded to our cloud storage service.
2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
WeCryptAI does not collect:
- Analytics or tracking data (no Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, Segment, or similar services)
- Error tracking data (no Sentry, Rollbar, or similar services)
- Advertising identifiers or data for ad networks
- Location data
- Browsing history or app usage patterns
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Account Authentication: To verify your identity via phone number OTP and maintain your session.
- Messaging Services: To facilitate the sending, receiving, and storage of messages between users.
- User Discovery: To allow other users to find you by phone number or handle, enabling them to start conversations with you.
- Push Notifications: To deliver message notifications and alerts to your device.
- End-to-End Encryption: To enable secure key exchange so that private messages can only be read by intended recipients.
- AI Features: To provide on-device AI chat functionality and, when you explicitly enable it, premium cloud-based AI services.
- Content Moderation: To enable blocking and reporting features that help maintain a safe community.
4. On-Device AI Processing
WeCryptAI includes AI-powered features that operate directly on your device:
4.1 Local Language Models
The App downloads and runs large language models (LLMs) directly on your device. All text generation from local AI occurs entirely on your phone. No conversation data is sent to any external server for local AI processing. The AI models are downloaded once from a content delivery network and stored locally on your device.
4.2 On-Device Image Analysis
The App includes a Vision Language Model (VLM) that analyzes images entirely on your device. Image analysis results are generated locally and are not transmitted to any external service. Temporary image files used during analysis are automatically deleted after processing.
4.3 Premium AI Services (Cloud-Based)
When you explicitly enable premium AI features, conversation context may be sent to third-party AI providers including:
- OpenAI (ChatGPT)
- Anthropic (Claude)
- Google (Gemini)
- xAI (Grok)
This data sharing only occurs when you actively choose to use premium AI features. You can disable premium AI at any time, and the App includes an Advanced Privacy mode that prevents any data from being sent to cloud AI services. Each third-party AI provider processes data according to their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
5. End-to-End Encryption
Private chats in WeCryptAI are protected by end-to-end encryption (E2EE):
5.1 Encryption Protocol
We use an industry-standard cryptographic protocol. Each message is encrypted with a unique random symmetric key, which is then individually wrapped for each recipient using public-key cryptography.
5.2 Key Management
- Your private encryption key is generated on your device and stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore).
- Your private key never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
- Only your public key is shared with our servers to enable other users to encrypt messages for you.
5.3 What This Means
End-to-end encryption ensures that only you and the intended recipients can read private messages. WeCryptAI cannot access, read, or decrypt your private messages, even if compelled by legal process. We can only provide the encrypted ciphertext, which is unreadable without the private keys held solely on user devices.
6. Data Storage and Security
6.1 Cloud Storage
Account information, encrypted messages, and shared media are stored on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) infrastructure. Firebase employs industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit.
6.2 Local Device Storage
The App stores certain data locally on your device for performance and offline access, including:
- Cached (decrypted) messages for quick loading
- Conversation metadata and read timestamps
- Notification and mute preferences
- Downloaded AI model files
- Auto-response and bot follow-up settings
This local data remains on your device and is not synced to external services.
6.3 Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including end-to-end encryption for private messages, secure key storage using OS-level secure storage facilities, encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL) for all network communications, and Firebase security rules to restrict unauthorized database access.
7. Third-Party Services
WeCryptAI integrates with the following third-party services:
- Firebase / Google Cloud Platform: Authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, and push notifications.
- OpenAI: Premium AI chat features (only when explicitly enabled by the user).
- Anthropic: Premium AI chat features (only when explicitly enabled by the user).
- Google AI (Gemini): Premium AI chat features (only when explicitly enabled by the user).
- HuggingFace: Content delivery network for downloading AI model files to your device.
- OpenRouter: Premium AI chat features (only when explicitly enabled by the user).
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review these policies. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
8. Device Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions:
- Contacts: Used solely on-device to identify which of your contacts are registered WeCryptAI users. Your contact list is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
- Camera and Photo Library: Used to capture and select images for sharing in chats and public posts.
- Notifications: Used to deliver push notifications for new messages and alerts. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.
- Storage: Used to store downloaded AI model files on your device for local processing.
9. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access and Portability: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: You can update your profile information (name, handle) within the App at any time.
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data directly within the App settings or via our Data Deletion Request Page. Upon confirmation, your user profile, public handle, and stored messages will be removed from our servers.
- Advanced Privacy Mode: You can enable Advanced Privacy mode within the App to ensure all AI processing occurs on-device and no conversation data is sent to cloud AI providers.
- Notification Control: You can manage notification preferences within the App or through your device settings.
- Blocking: You can block other users to prevent them from contacting you.
- Opt Out of Premium AI: You can disable premium AI features at any time to prevent conversation data from being sent to third-party AI providers.
10. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account Information: Retained for as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time.
- Messages: Encrypted private messages and public chat messages are retained on our servers until the conversation is deleted or you request account deletion.
- Images: Uploaded images are retained on our cloud storage until the associated conversation is deleted or you request account deletion.
- Local Device Data: Cached data on your device persists until you clear the App's data, uninstall the App, or log out.
- Push Notification Tokens: Automatically removed from our servers when you log out of the App.
11. Data Deletion and Account Management
WeCryptAI provides users with full control over their personal data. In compliance with Google Play policies, you have the following options to manage or remove your data:
11.1 How to Request Deletion
You may request data deletion through the following methods:
- In-App: Navigate to Settings > Account > Delete Account to trigger a removal request.
- Web Resource: If you have already uninstalled the App, you can submit a request via our Data Deletion Request Page. This allows you to request deletion without reinstalling the App.
11.2 Types of Deletion
Users may choose between two levels of data removal:
- Full Account Deletion: Permanent removal of your phone number, profile information, public handle, encrypted message history, and stored media.
- Partial Data Deletion: You may request the removal of specific data types, such as your Public Handle or AI Interaction Logs, while keeping your account active for private messaging.
11.3 Identity Verification
To protect your account from unauthorized deletion, we utilize a verification process for all web-based requests. Upon submitting a request via our website, we will contact you at your registered email address to confirm the request. We will not process the deletion until your identity is verified.
11.4 Retention and Exceptions
Upon a confirmed deletion request, data is typically purged from our active databases within 48 hours. However, please note:
- Legal Obligations: We may retain certain transaction records if required by law for tax or regulatory purposes.
- Security: Metadata may be retained temporarily in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being fully overwritten.
12. Children's Privacy
You agree by using the service that you are not under the age of 13. WeCryptAI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. 13. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our cloud infrastructure providers (Firebase/Google Cloud Platform) maintain servers. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
